Health in All Policies (HiAP) Laws

We're currently migrating this dataset. To interact with these data, visit our Legacy Site.

The Public Health Institute (“PHI”) defines Health in All Policies (“HiAP”) as a collaborative approach to improving the health of all people by incorporating health considerations into decision-making across sectors and policy areas.  Per PHI, there are five key elements which are at the core of any HiAP approach: (1) promoting health and equity; (2) supporting intersectoral collaboration; (3) creating co-benefits for multiple partners; (4) engaging stakeholders; and (5) creating structural or process change.

This is a longitudinal dataset displaying all HiAP laws enacted or amended between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2016. HiAP laws were not included if they were enacted prior to January 1, 2012 and have not been amended following that date.
