State Laws and Other Regulatory Policies Related to Pain Care_Final

This cross-sectional dataset analyzes important features of state pain-related law and other regulatory policies, including to the prescribing of controlled substances (i.e., opioid analgesics), definitions creating parameters for healthcare practice, delineating standards for evaluating and improving pain treatment including practitioner expectations for such treatment, practice requirements, and characteristics of state prescription monitoring programs (PMPs). All 50 states in the United States, as well as the District of Columbia, have state-level pain-related laws and other regulatory policies in various forms.
