Thank you for using visiting LawAtlas.org. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. This Privacy Policy is a part of our Terms of Use. If you have any questions or comments, or if you want to update, delete, or change any personal information you have submitted on LawAtlas.org, please e-mail the Center for Public Health Law Research at lawatlas@temple.edu.  

 

LawAtlas.org is owned and operated by the Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, located at 1819 N. Broad Street, Barrack Hall Suite 300, Philadelphia, PA, 19122. The Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law will be referred to as “CPHLR” under this Privacy Policy. Visitors to LawAtlas.org will be referred to as “User” or “you” under this Privacy Policy.

 

In the course of providing LawAtlas.org, CPHLR may collect Personal Information about a User. This Privacy Policy is effective with respect to any data CPHLR has collected or will collect, about and/or from you, according to our Terms of Use.

 

If there are any changes to this Privacy Policy, CPHLR will post them on the LawAtlas.org. Any changes will be effective as of the last date we post on the LawAtlas.org. CPHLR will not treat information of any open account differently from any other open account. If we ever change our Privacy Policy to expand our rights to use or disclose personal information for marketing purpose, you will be able to opt out without termination.

 

User Information

1.        INFORMATION COLLECTED

You currently do not need an account to use LawAtlas.org. When you do create an account to use LawAtlas.org or send us an e-mail, you are giving us information that CPHLR collects. That information may include your IP address, name, physical address, email address, phone number, and other details like occupation and demographic information. Please be aware that if you create an account or log-in through Facebook, and other social media log-in methods, you agree to allow us to use any information publicly visible through that platform. By giving CPHLR this information, you consent to your information being collected, used, disclosed, and stored by CPHLR, only as described in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

 

CPHLR may get information about how and when you use LawAtlas.org. This information may include your IP address, time, date, browser used, and actions taken by you within LawAtlas.org. When you create an account to use LawAtlas.org, CPHLR stores cookies, or strings of code, on your computer. CPHLR uses those cookies to collect information about when you visit our LawAtlas.org, your browser type and version, your operating system, and other similar information. You may disable cookies but doing so may make LawAtlas.org more difficult to use.

 

2.        USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

CPHLR may use and disclose your personal information only as follows:

a. To send you e-mails about new product features or releases.

b. To send you service alert e-mails – we may e-mail you to inform you of any changes to LawAtlas.org, including version updates, planned outages, or changes to our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy.

c. To enforce compliance with our Terms of Use and applicable law to help prevent violations.

d. To provide customer support.

e. To protect our rights and safety as well as the rights and safety of other Users and third parties.

f. To meet legal requirements and provide information to representatives and advisors necessary to help CPHLR comply with any legal, financial, or security requirements.

g. To communicate with you about your account.

h. To inquire about the use of LawAtlas.org.

 

3.        PUBLIC INFORMATION AND THIRD PARTIES

LawAtlas.org includes links to other websites, whose privacy policies might be different than that of CPHLR. If you submit any personal information to any of those websites, your information will be governed by their privacy policies.

Security

1.        NOTICE OF BREACH OF SECURITY

If a security breach causes an unauthorized use of our system that materially affects you, CPHLR will notify you as soon as possible and report our actions in response.

 

2.        SAFEGUARDING INFORMATION

You do not need to create an account to use LawAtlas.org. Should you chose to create an account, you are responsible for keeping your username and password secure. Do not disclose your username and password to a third party.

 

Compliance

1.        ACCURACY OF DATA, TRANSPARENCY, AND CHOICE

If your account data changes, you are responsible for notifying CPHLR of those changes. This includes switching to a new e-mail address. We only store data for as long as is reasonably required to fulfill the purposes that gave CPHLR the right to access it in the first place. We will provide you with access to any personal information about you that we hold within 30 days of any request for that information you make by contacting CPHLR at lawatlas@temple.edu. Unless prohibited by law, we will remove any personal information about you from our servers at your request.

 

2.        ENFORCEMENT

We regularly review our compliance with this Privacy Policy.
