About this dataset:

This longitudinal dataset captures details of state statutes and regulations that govern requirements regarding laboratory reporting of HIV testing results for the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands from November 30, 2023, through April 1, 2025. The dataset includes express requirements to report CD4 data, viral load data, and /or genotyping data specifically, as well as broad requirements to report test results generally related to HIV.

This dataset was created with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $2,249,998.00 with 100 percent funded by CDC/HHS. The contents do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement, by CDC/HHS, or the U.S. government.
